Hey there guys! I'm sitting here at work (don't worry, I'm not on the clock yet...) trying to choke down my fiber drink and feeling guilty that I haven't posted anything about the cleanse since day four! Maybe three! This weekend I had no motivation and was in a funk. Sorry! But let's fast forward to today, day eight. EIGHT!! I'm almost done with this thing. It honestly hasn't been that hard to do. Besides the fact that I had to turn down an invitation to Block 15 last night and couldn't indulge in the best garlic fries hands down. Or have pasta and bread. Or eat a bunch of junk food when all the guys were over. Or...okay, you get the idea. I have easily found ways to "spice" up the boring bland things I did eat. I throw a little peanut butter (the healthy kind!) in my oatmeal with some slices of banana and the banana adds some sweetness that my normal brown sugar would. Hummus and carrots are another favorite. Grapes and almonds. I eat all my almonds first since they're a little bland and then I have the grapes left for a treat. Celery and peanut butter. The possibilities are endless. Just takes a little thinkin'! My friend that I'm getting my Advocare products through, gave me some products for the 24 day challenge. Which I'm going to do as well. I'm excited to see how this one goes too.
Alright, well sorry for the boring post but I must get to work.
*Sigh*
Happy Tuesday!!

Cleanse: Day Four
Well hello! Today is day 4 of the cleanse and I'm feeling great! Today's post is going to be a little short because honestly, I haven't been following my meal plan. Don't worry! I haven't gotten off track, I've just had different snacks and lunches. (Or no lunch at all). Whoops! It's hard to get in lunch at lunch time because I'm making sandwiches for other people's lunches.
Let's see...nothing too exciting to post about yesterday other than that fact that I was invited to dinner for a friends birthday. We went to this place called Carino's that serves pasta, pizzas and lots of bread. If you know me, I could live off of pasta and bread. And be 500 pounds....but I could. I love it! Smart thinking me made a scramble with broccoli and spinach and some salsa before going so I wasn't tempted. I was hoping there might be whole grain pasta but there wasn't. I settled for a house salad and sun dried tomato pesto balsamic dressing. I didn't even think about there being croutons or parmesean cheese on the salad though. I gave my boyfriend the croutons and scraped off the cheese the best I could. This has probably been the hardest part about the cleanse. Not indulging in my cravings and resisting the urge to "just have a bite" of that bread stick. I could totally go for some garlic fries right now. YUM!
Sigh...for now though, I'll settle for some celery & peanut butter and a taco salad for dinner. :)
P.S. I told myself I wouldn't weigh in until day 10. But I was really curious to see how I've done so far. Yesterday I peeked at the scale and was down to 180 even! YES!!! Okay, enough excitement...I don't want to jinx it!!
P.P.S Spark with your fiber drink makes it 100 times better!! And try cutting up a banana and put some peanut butter in your oatmeal together. So good!!!
Have a wonderful night everyone!!

Cleanse: Day Two!
Wooohooo! Day Two is done!
I managed to choke down my fiber drink this morning. Not sure of it was easier because I was prepared for it or because it was 7 am not 5:30. Trying to eat or drink anything that early always gets me feeling a little quesy.
I had peanut butter in my oatmeal and a Grape Spark for breakfast. I had the mandarin orange Spark yesterday, and I do have to say I like the grape more.
Here's my meal plan for the day!
Day Two
Wake Up:
Take 3 Catalyst
Drink Fiber drink
Breakfast:
Oatmeal and Almonds
Take 2 OmegaPlex
Snack:
2 oz. pb and apples
Take 3 Catalyst and a Spark
Lunch: Chicken
salad* on top of spinach, brown rice, grapes
Snack:
Hard-boiled egg and an orange
Dinner:
Chicken and Brown Rice with Veggies
Take 2 OmegaPlex
Before Bed:
Take Herbal Cleanse packet
Alright, most of this I followed. We got pretty busy at work and I didn't have time to eat lunch which was leftovers from last nights dinner. My snack that was supposed to be apples and peanut butter, ended up being almonds and strawberries. My strawberries were pretty ripe and I didn't want them to go bad by the end of the week. I worked until 4:30 and didn't have my afternoon snack either. Oops! I got home and was starving so I had my leftovers that was supposed to be lunch for dinner tonight. I threw in 2 eggs (1 regular, 1 just egg whites) and some spinach and a little salsa on top. It was yummy!
The best part about planning out my meals (besides keeping myself sane because I HAVE to organize stuff like this,) I'm able to just throw stuff together if I want, but also know what I should be having if I think about going off plan too much. It's easier not to want to have that bag of potato chips or broccoli soup (YUM!) at work when I'm hungry when it's written down for me!
The evil of all evils...Fiber drink! Not the best picture but hopefully you can see the icky thickness on the side.
I forgot to take a picture of my dinner after it was done...so this is what you get. Sorry! :)
Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!

First off, waking up at 5 am for work on a Monday is just horrible. But having to drink a fiber drink that early on an empty stomach is worse. It has the consistency of watery applesauce and gets thicker the longer it sits there. EWW!!! I am not looking forward to tomorrow's fiber drink. Or the day after. Luckily, I only have to have it two more days and then the last three days of the cleanse.
The rest of my meals were pretty easy. Minus the fact that I forgot an apple to put in my oatmeal (which was pretty bland) my almonds and grapes were good.
For dinner I made Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers. The idea came from this blog and it was delicious!
Here is the recipe she used and some pictures of my dinner. :)
Ingredients
- 4 bell peppers (different colors, if available), cored and seeded
- 1/2 cup brown and wild rice mix, cooked
- 1 pound ground turkey meat
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 red onion, minced
- 1 TBSP olive oil
- 1 TBSP cumin
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
I used a little yellow onion and it tasted just fine. As for the brown & wild rice mixture, I had Uncle Ben's Long Grain & Wild Rice Original Recipe. There was 620 mg of sodium in the packet of seasoning so I just used half of it for a little flavor in the rice.
My peppers waitin' to be filled!
Couldn't find a lid so I improvised. Sue me.
Yummy! Garlic and onions...my favorite!
Adding the turkey to the sauteed onions & garlic. I used a little less than a TBS of cumin. I don't cook with it a lot so I didn't want to over do it.
My wonderful boyfriend helping in the kitchen. :)
These beauties are ready for the oven.
All done! Had a salad with it as well. I added a spoonful of salsa to the salad because I can't do dry lettuce. Hopefully this is okay on the cleanse!
There were a lot of rice and turkey mixture leftover I'll take with me tomorrow to work. I was pretty full after the salad and most of my fillings. I cut up the rest of my pepper and sauteed it longer so it's softer.
I am looking forward to lunch tomorrow! (Better than my salad at work today with no dressing.)
Well I'm off to get stuffed prepared for tomorrow!
Anyone have an easy way to drink the fiber drink? Let me know!
:)
Wait!!! I bet you're thinking I forgot about posting my current weight and measurements, right? Okay, yeah...I did until two seconds ago.
Here they are!
Current weight: 183.8
Arms: 14"
Waist: 43"
Thighs: 24"
I will post them again on Day 10 and see what I've accomplished!

Post Cleanse...
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been on here but I just haven't had any motivation to write anything nor had anything exciting to write about. Totally envious of you who can just write about anything off the top of your head and make it enjoyable to read.
Alright, let's get some facts straight.
I have a love-hate relationship with food and working out. I love food. I love feeling good after a workout...feeling like I accomplished something for the day. But I hate having to motivate myself to workout because I know I am not eating healthy. Don't get me wrong, I don't eat a ton of crap food but I'm not one to pass up an bread sticks and pasta, an occasional candy bar or Panda Express. I know I need to start eating healthier and make exercise a daily habit. I need to make a lifestyle change. Not just a temporary one.
I'm starting the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse tomorrow to get on track with choosing healthier meals and will be posting what I eat and how it's working out for me. I've decided to post my weight and measurements on here hoping that will motivate me more to get my numbers down.
Here is the dinner meal plan I made up after researching this cleanse and other people's cleanse plans:

Hello everyone. Yesterday I got the chance to go up to Wooden Shoe tulip farm in Woodburn. Tulips are my FAVORITE flower, ever. They are so pretty and come in a bajillion colors and there are so many different types. Luckily, we didn't get hit with any rain it was just a little cloudy. They had an area of local vendors and they all had some pretty cool stuff and delicious smelling German food. There was also some activities for the kids to do...mini pony rides, a bunch of play structures, face painting, and a bunch of other stuff. I thought I would share a few pictures from the festival I took. If you ever get the chance to go, DO IT!!
Yep, all those rows of color are tulips!!
There was even a pink John Deere tractor! I WANT IT!!!
Have a wonderful Saturday!!
