Snack: Hummus and veggies
Dinner: Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers and Salad

First off, waking up at 5 am for work on a Monday is just horrible. But having to drink a fiber drink that early on an empty stomach is worse. It has the consistency of watery applesauce and gets thicker the longer it sits there. EWW!!! I am not looking forward to tomorrow's fiber drink. Or the day after. Luckily, I only have to have it two more days and then the last three days of the cleanse.
The rest of my meals were pretty easy. Minus the fact that I forgot an apple to put in my oatmeal (which was pretty bland) my almonds and grapes were good.

For dinner I made Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers. The idea came from this blog and it was delicious!

Here is the recipe she used and some pictures of my dinner. :)

Ingredients
  • 4 bell peppers (different colors, if available), cored and seeded
  • 1/2 cup brown and wild rice mix, cooked
  • 1 pound ground turkey meat
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 red onion, minced
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 TBSP cumin
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
I used a little yellow onion and it tasted just fine. As for the brown & wild rice mixture, I had Uncle Ben's Long Grain & Wild Rice Original Recipe. There was 620 mg of sodium in the packet of seasoning so I just used half of it for a little flavor in the rice.

My peppers waitin' to be filled!

Couldn't find a lid so I improvised. Sue me.

Yummy! Garlic and onions...my favorite!

Adding the turkey to the sauteed onions & garlic. I used a little less than a TBS of cumin. I don't cook with it a lot so I didn't want to over do it.

My wonderful boyfriend helping in the kitchen. :)

These beauties are ready for the oven.

All done! Had a salad with it as well. I added a spoonful of salsa to the salad because I can't do dry lettuce. Hopefully this is okay on the cleanse!

There were a lot of rice and turkey mixture leftover I'll take with me tomorrow to work. I was pretty full after the salad and most of my fillings. I cut up the rest of my pepper and sauteed it longer so it's softer.
I am looking forward to lunch tomorrow! (Better than my salad at work today with no dressing.)

Well I'm off to get stuffed prepared for tomorrow!

Anyone have an easy way to drink the fiber drink? Let me know!
:)

Wait!!! I bet you're thinking I forgot about posting my current weight and measurements, right? Okay, yeah...I did until two seconds ago.
Here they are!

Current weight: 183.8
Arms: 14"
Waist: 43"
Thighs: 24"

I will post them again on Day 10 and see what I've accomplished!

Post Cleanse...

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been on here but I just haven't had any motivation to write anything nor had anything exciting to write about. Totally envious of you who can just write about anything off the top of your head and make it enjoyable to read.

Alright, let's get some facts straight.

I have a love-hate relationship with food and working out. I love food. I love feeling good after a workout...feeling like I accomplished something for the day. But I hate having to motivate myself to workout because I know I am not eating healthy. Don't get me wrong, I don't eat a ton of crap food but I'm not one to pass up an bread sticks and pasta, an occasional candy bar or Panda Express. I know I need to start eating healthier and make exercise a daily habit. I need to make a lifestyle change. Not just a temporary one.

I'm starting the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse tomorrow to get on track with choosing healthier meals and will be posting what I eat and how it's working out for me. I've decided to post my weight and measurements on here hoping that will motivate me more to get my numbers down.

Here is the dinner meal plan I made up after researching this cleanse and other people's cleanse plans:

(Mon) Day One:       Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers and Salad
(Tues) Day Two:     Chicken and Brown Rice with veggies
(Wed) Day Three:    Tilapia, Rice and Veggies
(Thurs) Day Four:    Chicken, Rice and Veggies or Salad
(Fri) Day Five:         Garlic Cauliflower Mash, Buffalo Wing Turkey Burgers
(Sat) Day Six:         Ground Turkey Taco Salad
(Sun) Day Seven:    Chicken Skewers and Brown Rice
(Mon) Day Eight:     Tuna Salad and Veggies
(Tues) Day Nine:     Leftovers if any, or Egg Scramble
(Wed) Day Ten:      Healthy Fried Rice and Chicken

I'll post my weight and measurements tomorrow after I weigh myself tomorrow morning!
I'm excited to see how this goes!

Hello everyone. Yesterday I got the chance to go up to Wooden Shoe tulip farm in Woodburn. Tulips are my FAVORITE flower, ever. They are so pretty and come in a bajillion colors and there are so many different types. Luckily, we didn't get hit with any rain it was just a little cloudy. They had an area of local vendors and they all had some pretty cool stuff and delicious smelling German food. There was also some activities for the kids to do...mini pony rides, a bunch of play structures, face painting, and a bunch of other stuff. I thought I would share a few pictures from the festival I took. If you ever get the chance to go, DO IT!!

Yep, all those rows of color are tulips!!

There was even a pink John Deere tractor! I WANT IT!!!

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Here I am, scrolling through the animals section on Pinterest and I'm just gonna say it, I WANT A KITTEN!!!! Like, really bad. I've grown up with cats my whole life. I still have two cats at my parents home but that's too far away to get my cat fix everyday. So I'm going to leave you with some cute, adorable kitten pictures!

Keyboard Cat!

And last but not least...Grumpy Cat!!

Happy Sunday!!!

Here are some things I've learned this past week...

1. No matter how old your boyfriend is, they will always enjoy an Easter egg hunt complete with a manly man gift basket!
I got the idea of the Easter egg hunt from this lovely website. I printed out the notes and made a few of my own and put them in some Dollar Store eggs complete with candy and hid them around the house and yard. I made a guy themed basket and threw together some stuff I thought he would enjoy. Nuts,   jerky, deodorant, his favorite candy, man lotion and a bunch of other random stuff. He loved it! :D

2. Work has consumed my life and I'm just going to have to deal with it.

3. I CAN walk out of Target without buying anything. I never thought this was possible!!

4. Country music will always be my all-time favorite. 80's & 90's country is where it's at, but I do love everything in between then and now. Anyone listen to Blake Shelton's song Boys 'Round Here? Yeahhh buddy!

5. Last but not least, if you haven't tried strawberries soaked in Pinnacle Whipped Vodka, you are missing out. Seriously. So delicious!!!

I'm drivin' slow on Sunday morning...

Oh Sunday, you have come around once again. Which means tomorrow the work week starts all over. Sigh...

BUT! I love Sunday mornings. Everyone is still asleep from pulling all nighters playing video games and I can do whatever I want! Which usually means by now I have made some breakfast and on my second cup of coffee. Some laundry has been started and I'm browsing the Pinterest world. That place has me suckered in!

Anyways, I just love being able to have that little bit of alone time where the house is all quiet and I can get all my mental to-do lists started.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!
:)

Saturday, March 2, 2013

Oh Saturday...

Alright, let's get one thing straight....

I can't live life without making lists.

I just can't. I go crazy without them.

I have a little notebook in my purse at all time just in case I need to write something down or add something to that days list. I don't know what it is...maybe I'm a little OCD but I like having my day planned out and being able to cross something off my list is so rewarding!

I thought I would share my wonderfully, boring to-do list today!

TO-DO:

  • Clean kitchen (For my own sanity, I need a clean kitchen!)
  • Do some laundry
  • Pick up bedroom
  • Go on a bike-ride or walk
  • Plan a workout, AND DO IT! (This is where I have trouble...completing a workout)
  • Finish some sewing projects (I will be attempting to make this camera bag!)
  • Perhaps some grocery shopping
  • Get dinner in the crock pot (Pulled pork sammiches for dinner! YUM!)

And there you have it. My not-so-awesome to do list. I like to keep busy on the weekends. Yeah, I'm weird. But of course my day will most likely consist of Pinterest, Facebook and reading through blogs.

Have a good day lovelies!!!

:)
