Hello everyone. Yesterday I got the chance to go up to Wooden Shoe tulip farm in Woodburn. Tulips are my FAVORITE flower, ever. They are so pretty and come in a bajillion colors and there are so many different types. Luckily, we didn't get hit with any rain it was just a little cloudy. They had an area of local vendors and they all had some pretty cool stuff and delicious smelling German food. There was also some activities for the kids to do...mini pony rides, a bunch of play structures, face painting, and a bunch of other stuff. I thought I would share a few pictures from the festival I took. If you ever get the chance to go, DO IT!!

Yep, all those rows of color are tulips!!

There was even a pink John Deere tractor! I WANT IT!!!

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Here I am, scrolling through the animals section on Pinterest and I'm just gonna say it, I WANT A KITTEN!!!! Like, really bad. I've grown up with cats my whole life. I still have two cats at my parents home but that's too far away to get my cat fix everyday. So I'm going to leave you with some cute, adorable kitten pictures!

Keyboard Cat!

And last but not least...Grumpy Cat!!

Happy Sunday!!!

Here are some things I've learned this past week...

1. No matter how old your boyfriend is, they will always enjoy an Easter egg hunt complete with a manly man gift basket!
I got the idea of the Easter egg hunt from this lovely website. I printed out the notes and made a few of my own and put them in some Dollar Store eggs complete with candy and hid them around the house and yard. I made a guy themed basket and threw together some stuff I thought he would enjoy. Nuts,   jerky, deodorant, his favorite candy, man lotion and a bunch of other random stuff. He loved it! :D

2. Work has consumed my life and I'm just going to have to deal with it.

3. I CAN walk out of Target without buying anything. I never thought this was possible!!

4. Country music will always be my all-time favorite. 80's & 90's country is where it's at, but I do love everything in between then and now. Anyone listen to Blake Shelton's song Boys 'Round Here? Yeahhh buddy!

5. Last but not least, if you haven't tried strawberries soaked in Pinnacle Whipped Vodka, you are missing out. Seriously. So delicious!!!

I'm drivin' slow on Sunday morning...

Oh Sunday, you have come around once again. Which means tomorrow the work week starts all over. Sigh...

BUT! I love Sunday mornings. Everyone is still asleep from pulling all nighters playing video games and I can do whatever I want! Which usually means by now I have made some breakfast and on my second cup of coffee. Some laundry has been started and I'm browsing the Pinterest world. That place has me suckered in!

Anyways, I just love being able to have that little bit of alone time where the house is all quiet and I can get all my mental to-do lists started.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!

Oh Saturday...

Alright, let's get one thing straight....

I can't live life without making lists.

I just can't. I go crazy without them.

I have a little notebook in my purse at all time just in case I need to write something down or add something to that days list. I don't know what it is...maybe I'm a little OCD but I like having my day planned out and being able to cross something off my list is so rewarding!

I thought I would share my wonderfully, boring to-do list today!

TO-DO:

  • Clean kitchen (For my own sanity, I need a clean kitchen!)
  • Do some laundry
  • Pick up bedroom
  • Go on a bike-ride or walk
  • Plan a workout, AND DO IT! (This is where I have trouble...completing a workout)
  • Finish some sewing projects (I will be attempting to make this camera bag!)
  • Perhaps some grocery shopping
  • Get dinner in the crock pot (Pulled pork sammiches for dinner! YUM!)

And there you have it. My not-so-awesome to do list. I like to keep busy on the weekends. Yeah, I'm weird. But of course my day will most likely consist of Pinterest, Facebook and reading through blogs.

Have a good day lovelies!!!

Just call me Betty Crocker!

As of lately, I've been trying more and more to make home cooked meals. It definitely saves money and is healthier. My boyfriend loves to make meals in the crock pot because it is SO easy! Start it in the morning when I go to work and he goes to school and it's ready when we get home! Hardly any work and hardly any clean up! We use crock pot liners and who ever invented those are GENIUS!
I usually find myself lost in the Pinterest world looking up new recipes and desserts and stuff and came across crock pot freezer meals! These were really easy to make and didn't take a lot of time. The first night we made the Chicken Tortilla soup which was delicious! Our second crock pot dinner was the Pineapple and Ham over rice. I substituted chicken because I had some leftover from the other meals and this one was really yummy too. I added a little terriyaki sauce and that gave it some more flavor.

Last night we had made chili mac for dinner and I used this recipe. I didn't have any tomato sauce so I'm not sure of that would make it better, but even without the sauce it was great. As I was making it, my boyfriend started to turn on the oven and I asked what for. He's like, "Don't you bake it?" Nope!! You don't even bake it! It's soooo easy! I was looking forward to having leftovers today, but sadly they were eaten. :( I can't wait to make this dish again.

A mental goal I have made is to make at least 1 meal a month that I normally wouldn't try. Hopefully I'll keep up with it and expand my taste buds to more than just what's easy to cook.

What are some of your favorite dishes to make?
